The Sanctuary Mission
A Living Sanctuary Built on Dignity & Compassion
Founded in the historic town of Amer just outside Jaipur, Eleday Elephant Sanctuary offers a safe haven for rescued Asian elephants previously subjected to arduous street begging, ceremonial procession stress, and howdah riding. Here, our gentle residents spend their days exploring scenic trails, bathing freely in freshwater ponds, and receiving veterinary care alongside generational mahouts who practice positive reinforcement only.
100% Strict Zero-Riding Policy
Unlike traditional tourist attractions, we strictly forbid howdahs, saddles, and passenger riding to preserve elephant spinal biomechanics and prevent lifelong back trauma.
100% Organic & Ayurvedic Diets
Every animal receives 150-200 kg of daily farm-fresh forage, nutritious jaggery-herb rotas, seasonal fruits, and mineral-rich digestible fodder tailored to age and health.
Veterinary Standards & Hydrotherapy
Resident elephants receive bi-weekly veterinary checks, specialized footpad pedicures, hydrotherapy pool exercise, and individualized herbal recovery routines.
Community Mahout Empowerment
We employ generational mahout families from Amer at fair living wages, transitioning them from exploitative street riding to compassionate, dignified wildlife caretaking.
